ISRAEL AGASI 1940 - 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Israel Agasi on August 10, 2014 at the age of 74. He will be deeply missed by his wife Audrey (nee Weinstein), children David (Sheila), Tamara (Steve) and Elana, and grandchildren Christian, Cami, Emme, Aidan and Danielle. He is survived by his brother Zev Agasi who resides in Israel and was predeceased by his sister Chava Shustack. Born in 1940 in Ramat Gan, Israel, he watched the country proudly gain independence and grow. He served in the Israeli defence force as well as playing basketball for their national team. He met Audrey in Israel and they married in Tel Aviv in 1965. They soon moved to Canada where he owned and operated Garry Lanes Bowling for 42 years. Israel was a great ambassador for his home land and proud of his Jewish roots. In Winnipeg he could be seen daily at the Asper Centre where he was vastly popular. Israel was a kind, caring and generous husband, father, Zaida, brother and friend. He had the best smile, best laugh, a heart of gold and showed kindness and patience to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held on August 13. Pallbearers were Zvi Dil, Arie Lavy, Matthew Weinstein, Jason Weinstein, David Greaves and Steve Kroft. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to Sar-El Canada, the Rady Jewish Centre in Winnipeg or a charity of your choice.

I met Izzy at Garry Lanes as a bowler. In later years he was a great friend to my father Bert Mayne. It would put a smile on Bert's face to say he went to see Izzy today. It was a friendship he valued greatly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family . - Posted by: Trudy Quint (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2014

Sorry for your lost. My condolences to the Agasi Family. I enjoyed looking after your parents when they came to the store. Both your Dad and Mom always thought they were bothering me but I always enjoyed teaching them how to use there cell phones. - Posted by: Kelly Leong (High school friend to David and worked with Tamara ) on: Aug 23, 2014
