Date of Passing: Aug 19, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCOLLEEN "BUGGIE" JOHNSTON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Johnston at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB, on August 19, 2014 at the age of 41. Her memory will be cherished by her loving father Allan Johnston; mother, Jennifer Johnston; two sisters, Ardelle Johnston, Brenda Johnston; brother, Martin Johnston. She will also be missed by her cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Riley and cat Badger. Colleen gave very generously to others who needed her help. She was passionate about helping her family, friends and even people she did not know. She had a heart larger than life. Colleen's care and concern for her family, friends, others and her dog and cat never wavered for a second even when her health declined. Her nurturing soul made sure everything and everyone was always taken care of. Colleen also had an artistic side from a young age, she was amazing at drawing and painting. Colleen worked as a hair dresser for many years. Colleen also loved nature. She had many wonderful experiences staying in Pine Dock and Winnipeg Beach with family and friends. She could not get enough of staying near the Lakes. "You were always there when we needed you" No task too great or small, With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us And for the precious times we shared, We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, He put His arms around you And said, "Come unto Me." FOREVER IN OUR MEMORIES Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I went to St. Johns for grade 10 after attending schools with strict dress codes and in my first class I walked right into Buggie in one of the coolest late 80s outfits. She smiled and said hey you're new what's your name. She was lovely and encouraging and such a great lady. Rest easy my friend - Posted by: Glenna Henderson (High school chum) on: Aug 25, 2014

Although Buggie was a couple of years younger than us, she'd always hang around and make us laugh. I'll always remember that beautiful smile and her adorable giggles; I hope you will be able cherish those special memories in the difficult days to come. As loving and caring as she was in life, so will she be now; watching, guiding and loving you always! Deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the Johnston family. - Posted by: Barbara Borowy (Brenda's high school friend) on: Aug 25, 2014

My deepest condolences to Allen and the Johnston family, my heart aches for you..I first want to say Buggie was such an special person, she was always happy and had a laugh that could cheer anyone up no matter the situation. I met Buggie through my sister Joni Lyn, they were neighbour's. I would often go to my sisters and Bugs would be hollering out back "is that you joni", however it was me. We spent many days outside with the puppies over the summers and that's one thing we will miss. Buggie was such a funny girl, if you said something that was shocking or a secret just the way she would say "really" cracked me up.Buggie loved children, she was always doing things with the children in her family and even my niece, she just adored them.Such a tremendous loss and she is dearly missed by everyone.I will never forget Colleen especially her laughter. Say hello to my momma and daughter up there Buggie and give your daddy and family the strength they need to get through the hardships to come.Until we meet again <3 - Posted by: Jackie Bodnar (friend ) on: Aug 24, 2014

Buggie was always a sweetheart. We were friends when I was in my early teens and once Facebook came onto the scene Lo and Behold there's a friend request from Colleen. She was quick to ask how I've been, catch up on my life and she genuinely wished me happiness. She hadn't changed a bit from that girl I remembered. I also remember her being sick from time to time bit she never really let on about HOW sick and how serious. That was Buggie. A pretty selfless lady. You will be missed by many. - Posted by: Candace Birch McAuley (Old friend) on: Aug 23, 2014

Buggie, the ring leader in high school. You inspired me in fashion, did my hair so awesome, cooked for me, and had the best slumber parties! You were hilarious and an awesome loyal friend. I'm glad we got to connect again before you left. Thanks for all your love Buggie. - Posted by: Leta Forbister (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2014

Our family loved this girl. And she loved us. As a teenager she spent lots of time at our house, and Leta at her's. The obituary tells it perfectly - she cared about people. When I was worried about my daughter I could count on Buggy to listen to me, to ease my mind, and to help me. She would always walk down and look for me at the MMF McGregor St Festival and I'll never forget that. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. - Posted by: Grace Forbister (mother of friend, Leta) on: Aug 23, 2014

My deepest condolences to Buggie's family. I first met Buggie when we were young girls and played baseball for the Sinclair Park Saberettes. In our teenage years we met again as students at St. John's High. In our adult years it was the bingo halls and Facebook where we'd continue the exchange of smiles, how's it going chit chat, and happy faces! She truly was a beautiful person in and out. Her passing is deeply saddening. Rest in Paradise my friend. - Posted by: Victoria Stevenson (Friend) on: Aug 23, 2014
