Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE FREDERICK LOBSON June 3, 1923 - July 27, 2014 After a brief illness, George Frederick Lobson died peacefully at 91 years old. He spent his final days at Victoria Hospice Centre surrounded by his family. He will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Doreen, his children, Dwight (Teri) of Nanaimo, BC, Deborah (Mark) Warroad, MN, Duane (Nancy), Victoria, BC, and David (Christine) Winnipeg, MB, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, his brothers, Norman and Art, sisters-in-law, Elaine and Lorna. George was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Katie Lobson, stepmother Beatrice Lobson, brothers Erv and Al, sisters-in-law Joyce and Marilyn and granddaughter Catherine Watson. George will be remembered as a man of integrity, who loved His Lord, his family and people. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, 2:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 2295 Weiler Avenue, Sidney, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospice Society, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria, BC V8R 1J8 or to a charity of your choice.

I met George 35 years ago through my father, Neil. George and Neil were active with NWCTA, and were both past presidents. I know that my with my mother Laurette, Dad would often meet up with George and Doreen for an evening out. George continued to keep in touch with me through my parents' time in a care home, and after their passing in 2011, and would call me every few months to chat and ask about them. I missed his last call in May, and he left a message saying he would call back in a few weeks. Sadly this did not happen. I will miss George.
