DOROTHY (DOT) BURROWS March 31, 1919 - August 19, 2014 It is with sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy on Tuesday in Edmonton. She will be lovingly missed by her son, Ken (Sonia) of Red Deer; granddaughter, Karen of Edmonton; sister-in-law, Lorraine Milne of Calgary; niece Arlene (Hal) Krahn of Winnipeg and nephew, Gary (Donna) Milne of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Doug; daughter, Karen; brothers, Jim and Bill Milne; and sister-in-law, Violet Milne. Dorothy was an enthusiastic participant in baseball, hockey and paddling in her youth in Winnipeg. She always enjoyed her yard and garden and spent much time puttering among the flowers. Dorothy was an avid traveler with her husband, travelling the world as well as enjoying ocean cruises and canal barges in Europe. She was active socially at the Royal Glenora Club for many years. As well, Dorothy gave freely of her time as a volunteer for a number of organizations. At Dorothy's request, there will be no service or memorial. Cremation has taken place and Dorothy will join her husband Doug and daughter Karen in the family plot in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Shriners Children's Hospital, c/o Al Shamal Shriners, 14510 142 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6V 1H9 or the Salvation Army, 9618 101 A Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5H 0C7.
