MARIE ANTOINETTE LAVOIE June 4, 1926 August 13, 2014 It is with great sadness the family of Marie A. Lavoie announce her passing, after a brief illness. Marie was born in St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba and lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She was the last surviving sibling of eight in the Page family. Mom worked hard all of her life, but most enjoyed working with her sister Audrey, and sister-in-law Phyllis, before finally retiring. She was very independent, living on her own until entering hospital in June. She was passionate about reading and crossword puzzles, keeping her mind active and sharp. She was always the life of any social gathering with relatives or friends. Mom, Nanny, Auntie is survived by son Richard Pylychuk (spouse Sharon and family); grandchildren Richard Jr., (Tammi and family) and granddaughter Candice in B.C; and their mother Shannon McConaghy; brothers-in-law Bert Oliver and Bert Hamerla, and many nieces and nephews, especially Darlene, Cheryl and Debbie, who spoiled her and comforted her with love; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, parents and all of her siblings. As per her wishes cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Brooklands Weston Legion, Branch #2, 1613 Logan Ave., on Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Soup Van Program, 180 Henry Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0J8 would be appreciated. Services in care of Korban Funeral Chapel. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and doctors of the Victoria General Hospital for their kind, compassionate care.
