Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCYNTHIA GERALDINE DAPHNE SMITH (nee GRIMOLFSON) September 1944 August 25, 2014 With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend at the age of 69, in Selkirk. Mom is survived by her son Dennis (Bettie-Ann), daughter-in-law Mary-Jo, grandchildren Destiny (Jesse), Maggie, Beth, Kevin, Kerry (Stephanie) and great-grandson Tevyn. Also her sisters: Charlynne, Bev, Barb (Darren), brothers: Lance (Corrine), Brent, Clayton (Pat), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cynthia was predeceased by her parents Oli and Gertie Grimolfson, son Randy, brother Roland and nephew Trevor Grimolfson. Cynthia was born in Arnes, MB and was raised in the Interlake area. As a young mom, Cynthia loved to sew and cook for her sons. Later on she moved to Alberta where she worked as a cook on the oil rigs, until she came back. Cynthia had such a passion for cooking that she even had her own lunch truck. In recent years she provided meals for seniors in her apartment block, up to her last few days. She also had a passion for grandchildren and spent lots of time teaching, gardening and enjoying them to the fullest. As per Cynthia's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. If you would like to make a donation in honour of Cynthia, this can be made to CancerCare. In celebration of Cynthia's life, we will have a luncheon for her family and friends on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 2:00 4:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Friendship Centre, 425 Eveline St. Come and share your memories with us.

We were all so saddened to hear Cynthia was so sick, and even more so hearing of her passing. Cynthia was a dedicated volunteer at the House of Economy, knowing and believing in her contribution to her community through her hard work at the Store. She was an effective and cherished member of our team. She will be missed. Our condolences to her Family.... - Posted by: House of Economy (friends) on: Sep 04, 2014
