TED L. LASIUK On Tuesday, September 2, 2014 Ted L. Lasiuk passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Colleen; children, Michelle, Michael and Lori (Marcus); grandchildren, Stefan, Lucian, Weston and Gwendolyn; his mother Ann, as well as other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Theodore. Ted was a family man. He had a love of the outdoors, an incredible work ethic and a wonderfully witty sense of humour. He loved spending time taking walks at Birds Hill Park, family days at Grand Beach, and hated to miss a Bomber or Jets game. Ted worked for 37 years as a Visits and Correspondence Officer at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. He took pride in his career and genuinely enjoyed the people he met and worked with. Although he was mostly a serious man, he had an amazing ability to find humour in the most difficult circumstances, even during his final days in the hospital. Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface ICU, 2nd Floor, as well as the Asper Building staff for all their care and support. You are a truly special group of people. A Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ted's memory to the St-Boniface Hospital Foundation. 204-586-8044

My condolences to the Lasiuk family. Ted was a real professional, steady influence at the workplace and one who could always be relied on to bring humour and candor. So sorry to hear about Ted's passing. I used to see him when he came for coffee at Robin's . Ted was bye far one of my favorite customers! Always a big friendly smile. He always made you feel good, even if you were having a bad day. We usually chatted about The Bombers and politics! Even after I left Robins, I would still run into and always loved chatting with him! Rest in piece my friend! You will be missed. We can only express our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to you Colleen, aunt Anne and all Teddies children and grandchildren. It was shocking news that such a wonderful, kind and truly amazing man has passed, to now watch over his loving family. We will always remember his sense of humor and his love of his close knit family. We now go back and remember him, his life in childhood to his new life with the love of his life Collen in wedding bliss. The birth of his children brought such pride, joy and happiness to him. May his memories live forever in his families,and his many many friends hearts. He will be forever missed and thought of. May he rest in peace, as he was special to all who knew him. We were very sad to hear about your loss. Very much enjoyed getting to know Ted both in the early days when he loved looking after Stefan as a baby in Winnipeg and on his trip to Oakville.
