Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN IRELAND October 9, 1935 - September 2, 2014 Peacefully, with Shell at her side, Lillian Irene Ireland, nee Repski, passed away at her home September 2, 2014. Lil was the only child of John and Ann Repskiand was born in Esk, Saskatchewan. She was proud to be from Saskatchewan and even prouder to be Ukrainian. Although she was an only child, she was raised with two amazing cousins , Al and Johnny Repski, who were her super heroes. Lil married the love of her life, Gerald Garnet Ireland. The couple lived their happily married life in Dauphin. Prior to Gerry's passing, Gerry told his doctors that his last remaining wish was to lie in bed holding his beautiful wife and telling her how much he loved her. This speaks to their relationship and Lil never got over the heartbreak of losing him in 1992. Lil was probably the inspiration for the phrase "party girl "and her exploits in Dauphin were legendary. Those who knew her will smile every time they hear Louis Armstrong singing Hello Dolly. You could tell when Lil was in a room as the room was filled with laughter. Lil had a variety of jobs, and did all with passion. She was extremely proud of her career as civilian member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Her positive lasting influence in the lives of many members is her legacy. Many people live their lives without having one true best friend and Lil had too many to count. Three of her dearest friends were Marlene Johnston, Pauline Coutts, and Twyla Widdifield. Each of their passing left a significant whole in her heart. Lil also had to mourn the loss of two amazing dogs, Louie and Oprah. Lil was extremely kind and loving to everyone she met and her only fault was that she loved Shell too much. Lil was very proud of the sincere loving relationship that she enjoyed with her stepdaughter Gerry-Mae. Lil also mourned the loss of her other step-daughter Millie. Lil was always in awe of both of their genuine beauty. Left to mourn her loss is Shelley (Andrew) and her children Gerry and Kelsey. She is also survived by Gerry Mae (John), Don, Bill (Maureen) and Mickey. She will also be remembered by 13 exceptional grandchildren, all of whom inherited her zest for life and freedom to share their gifts with the world. She was also a proud great-grandmother of seven. Special friends that remain are Eileen, Irene and Harry, Judy, Janice, Boots and Carol. At Lil's request, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest next to Gerry at a private interment. The family request that those wishing to honour her memory do so by being kind to everyone they meet. Lil (Aunt Lil) was a special person in my life. Though out my years of service in the RCMP in Dauphin some of my fondess memories were my talks with Lil. Not to mention the little prank that Willie Hornseth and myself played on Lil one quiet night shift. We talked about it every time we met after I left the RCMP. I had a chance to see Lil a number of years after I left and was living in Saskatoon. It was a fantastic emotional reunion. She was like family. I wish I could have seen her one more time. I will miss you Lil but not forget you. Love Brian - Posted by: Brian Kuny (Friend and coworker) on: Jun 25, 2016

I met Lil through a mutual friend Judy. Lil was A wonderful lady and I was blessed that God made our paths cross. I never got the chance to meet her daughter, but I knew she loved her dearly. My deepest Sympathy goes out to you Shell and the rest of her family. God bless you Lil. - Posted by: Shirley ammeter ( friend) on: Sep 08, 2014

I am proud to have worked with Lil in the RCMP. She was our "Baba" and we proudly called her that. She cared about each and every one of us out on the road and it was not unusual to get several calls from Lil before you got to an event with her just checking to see how you were and if you were there yet. Many pranks were played on Lil and she could play them right back. It was her laugh that just made you want to laugh too. Rest well "Baba". We love you. - Posted by: Kathie King (Co-worker and friend) on: Sep 06, 2014

I remember that Lil was our lifeline back in the 80's, when we were out at all hours of the night in Amaranth. You could ALWAYS count on her to have your back and she was the best Telecoms operator I served with in 35 years with the Force. XJD-22 Dauphin signing off. Rest in peace Lil. - Posted by: Reid Bingham () on: Sep 06, 2014
