EDWIN A. CHRISTIE, Q.C. (Second World War Veteran) On, Friday, September 5, 2014 in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean W. Christie (nee Lee) (1994). Survived by his daughter Barbara Wilkinson (Jim) of Ridgeway (ON), and grandchildren, Tara, Jonathon and Shelby, son Lisle (Dan Hill) of Toronto, daughter Patricia Christie-Planques (Bryan Barnes), and grandchildren Maxwell and Christie, of Toronto, brother Gordon (Joyce) of Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, living across Canada and New England (USA). First graduation class of Commerce B. Comm. 1941 (University of Manitoba), Osgoode Hall 1949, L.L.B. 1991 (York University). Life member Georgina Lodge No. 343 A.F. and A.M., Member of Scottish Rite 32 degree, Past President of Fort York Branch No. 165, Royal Canadian Legion. Served in the Royal Canadian Artillery (Lieut.) in Canada, England and Italy. Retired senior partner of Christie, Saccucci and Matthews after more than 50 years of practice. Sincere thanks to the staff of Christie Gardens for their exceptional care and compassion. The family will receive friends at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, at Windermere Ave., east of Jane subway, from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.   • I only had the honour of meeting Mr. Christie once when he visited the school where I work. It was on Remembrance Day a few years back and he spoke to the children and took part in our annual ceremony. I will never forget him.
