JAMES ANDREW TAYLOR October 25, 1931 Winnipeg, Manitoba September 2, 2014 - Calgary, Alberta Jim Taylor, beloved husband (58 years) of Elaine Taylor (nee Bauman) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Besides his loving wife Elaine, Jim is survived by his children James (Cheryl), John (Barb), Thomas, Diana-Lynn Yurchak (David); his eight grandchildren, Crystal (Tomas), Jacqueline, James IV, Bradley, Amy, Brittany, Brayden and David and great-grandson Oakland. He is also survived by a brother David Taylor (Georgette); his sisters-in-law, Betty and Pearl and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brothers John and Edward and sister Cecilia and brother-in-law Russell Acheson. Jim worked for Imperial Oil in Winnipeg for 27 years before accepting a transfer in 1976 to their affiliate in Fort McMurray becoming Syncrude Canada's first Metallurgical Inspector where he continued with the company until his retirement in 1986. Papa had a passion for attending the sporting endeavours of all his grandchildren and enjoying his last 42 summers at the family cabin in Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive NW, Calgary, Alberta) today, Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Calgary Health Trust - Southern Alberta Renal Program Greatest Needs (800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE.
