SIMONE CECILE HENAULT (nee PARISIEN) October 17, 1953 - September 4, 2014 It is with deep sorrow and sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of my dear Simone, surrounded by her loving family, at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 60 years, after a courageously fought battle with cancer. Simone will be lovingly missed and remembered by her devoted husband of 37 years, Ron; daughter Lee-Ann (Mike); son Scott (Natalie); grandchildren Kaylee, Jayden and Kari. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sister: Paul (Jeanne), Philippe (Réjeanne), Alice (George), Richard (Patricia); as well as many nieces and nephews. Simone was predeceased by her parents Octave and Agathe Parisien, and infant brother André. Simone was born in St. Boniface and raised in St. Adolphe, MB. Upon graduating high school she was hired by the Federal Department of Supply and Services Canada where she remained for 38 years, retiring in 2010. Although Simone worked outside of the home, there was no one who loved her family more profoundly. Her children and grandchildren were paramount to her; Simone always gave herself selflessly for their needs and guidance. She rejoiced in all of their accomplishments and was the pillar of strength and understanding in their moments of need. Simone truly defined the meaning of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Fr. Fred Olds presiding. Inurnment will follow in Saint Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB. If friends and family so desire, donations in Simone's memory may be made to The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9. Simone you were taken from us far too soon, rest in eternal peace knowing that we will hold you forever in our hearts and love you always. Richard Wojcik of Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Ave., 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com

I only knew Simone from our mutual work in producing government cheques, but I was extremely impressed by both her work ethic and her ability to take all problems in stride. Her distribution unit was the last step in getting the cheques going to remote locations in the mail, and she never failed to get it done, even when everything else was running late. She was a constant participant in our charitable campaigns for Children's Hospital and United Way. I am saddened that she did not get the long retirement she deserved. Sincere condolences to Ron and family. - Posted by: Jim Wingert (former PWGSC employee) on: Sep 12, 2014

Ron Sincere condolences from my family (Yvonne, Ryan & Colin) to yours. I met the both of you through work back in the 80's with Supply and Services Canada (in Winnipeg). The laughter and jokes you both brought to work each day made life a little easier. Simone was good person, big on family and would let me bend her ear now then (thanks for that). - Posted by: Marc Poot (Former Co-worker & friend) on: Sep 11, 2014

One of my enjoyments was stopping at your work station to share a laugh or vent a "Cliff" life incident. I cherish the Thailand photo of me that you cross-stitch and framed. It was a Beautiful retirement gift and I will always remember you for it. I know, you will be truly missed. My deepest sympathy to Ron and all your children. - Posted by: Cliff Sulyma (Co-Worker) on: Sep 09, 2014
