Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA (SANDY) CLAEYS (nee BISHOP) Sandy passed away on Monday September 8, 2014 suddenly yet peacefully in her home after several complicated health related issues. She was a survivor of Breast Cancer and was a strong and determined woman. Sandy was born on November 19, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is survived by her beloved husband Leonard of 27 years and her stepdaughter Carla (Arnold) and her only grandchild Leona. She is also survived by her siblings Brian (Pat), Carol (Bob), Lyle (April), Debbie (Paul), Kirby (Angie), numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews as well as cousins. Sandy was predeceased by her parents Mabel (2013) and Andrew Bishop (2009). Sandy was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles from the news paper every day. When she was younger she enjoyed playing baseball, going to the gym and curling. She was also a big fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets. Sandy's favorite place was going to the cottage at Hillside Beach all throughout the year. She loved being a "Nana" to her only granddaughter and spending time with her granddaughter brought her much joy and happiness. A celebration of Sandy's life will take place on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue with a reception. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest There is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed. For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I was sorry to hear of Sandys passing. My condolences to her family. Although I haven't seen Sandy since the Bishoff reunion, I often think of the fun we all had at Granpa and Grandma Bishoff's farm. The weiner roasts, fireworks, playing hide and seek late at night. Lots of great memories. Rest in peace cousin - Posted by: Doreen johnson (Cousin) on: Sep 13, 2014
