Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA CLAUDIA OLGA SINCLAIR November 13, 1942 - September 8, 2014 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and wife. She leaves to mourn her husband of 51 years, Lloyd Sinclair, her six children Myra, Alistair (Jackie), Grace (Leonard), Susie (Jerry), Pat (William) and Alma (Marc); brother Alex (Jennifer); numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren that brought laughter, joy and love to her life; also many in-laws from Lloyd's side of the family. Mom was born November 13, 1942 to Gerard and Betsy Patrick in Berens River, Manitoba. Mom grew up with values that were instilled in her work ethics, loyalty and the love of her family. She worked for the Hudson's Bay company for many years. She later moved on to manage her uncles business for many years before she decided it was time to move on. She completed her Grade 12 at Berens River High School and later attained a Bachelor of Education from Brandon University in the PENT program. Mom taught the Saulteaux program at Berens River School until her retirement in 2006. She had a big impact on the many students she taught. Mom was an outspoken individual and held strongly to her convictions. In the end, she was respected for speaking her beliefs and also respected others. Mom suffered from diabetes in her late years. She remained upbeat and determined that she would live to see her great-grandchildren grow. Mom was the center and heartbeat of our family. She never let any of us suffer or struggle even though she struggled herself. She brought laughter, tears, and mostly love in her own way into our hearts. Her selflessness, determination, and love for her family will be carried on in our hearts and will be a legacy that will never fade. She was predeceased by her son Bryden, grandson Dennis, dad Gerard and mother Betsy. Pallbearers are grandsons; Nadrie Sinclair, Joshua Whiteway, Aaron Whiteway, Dylan Sinclair, Gerd Nabess, Keenan Lea, Darion Sinclair, Gerard Sinclair. Honorary pallbearers are sister-in-laws Vina Stevenson, Phyllis Nykoluk, Joan Hudson, Irene Holmond, Della Mason, Marge Sinclair and Rachel Thickfoot. Her close friends Loretta Hudson, Elenor Lambert, Virginia Mckay, Violet Ross, Irene Anderson, Dolores Berens, Ruthann Cook and many more. The family would like to thank the many friends and family for their sincere condolences. Also the Berens River Nursing station staff and the many caregivers that helped mom. Wake service was held at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Wake services will be held at the R.C Mission on Thursday, September 11 and Friday, September 12. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13 at 2:00 pm at the Roman Catholic Church in Berens River, Manitoba. Mom, You gave us life. You gave your love and sacrificed many things to ensure along with dad that we would have everything we needed. There were struggles, heartaches and happy times that brought us closer as a family. We will miss you. Forever in our hearts.

My sincere condolences to Lloyd and family of Mrs. Sinclair. I had the pleasure of getting to know Alma when I was working as a nurse in Berens River. She was truly a remarkable woman and I enjoyed chatting with her whenever she came into the nursing station. Lloyd always by her side and caring for her. She had a no nonsense attitude about many things and I admired her for all that she had accomplished and paved the way for women of today. She was truly a trailblazer. Hugs to Lloyd as I understand how much she meant to you. RIP Mrs. Sinclair, no more pain and suffering. - Posted by: Christine Carpenter (Nurse @ Berens River Nursing Station 2010 to 2013) on: Sep 16, 2014
