Date of Passing: Sep 07, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCYNTHIA JUNE MARIE STEM Peacefully in the early morning hours on September 7, 2014, Cindy passed away with family by her side to be reunited with her parents, John and Stella and brother, Wayne. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her sister Lynne; brother Tim (Bev, Jordan, Lee and family) as well as many relatives in Canada and the United States. Also missing her will be the family dog, Harley. Cindy graduated with two degrees from the University of Manitoba at a young age. Her true passion in life was gardening. She would begin hunting for seeds in January of every year and always looked for something she had never grown before. Her family were the recipients of awesome organic vegetables every year. As well, Cindy preserved and froze much of her bounty. Her jams, relish and preserves were outstanding. She also enjoyed baking cookies, cakes, pies and bread. Her family enjoyed many of her baked creations. Cindy mastered the art of growing beautiful flowers in her gardens. Her gladiolas were award winning beauty. Cindy also had a love of all animals and birds. In summer she ensured all bird baths in her yard had fresh water regularly. In winter she topped up her bird feeders on a daily basis. Cindy never met a dog or cat who did not immediately like her. Cindy enjoyed travel and frequently visited Walt Disney World in the Florida sun. She also travelled throughout Canada many times. Her love of Celtic music took her to Ireland for two great trips with her sister. Cheering on the Bombers and Jets, curling, attending concerts and the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre were just some of the many joys in her life. Cindy will always be remembered for her kindness, warm and friendly manner, sense of humour, quick wit and gift for friendship. Highly competent and keenly intelligent Cindy was also modest and low key. She was our angel on earth. In accordance with Cindy's wishes, a private family service has taken place followed by cremation. If you knew Cindy and wish to honor her memory, please plant a flower or make a donation to any pet rescue shelter. "Our memory box is overflowing with happy times because of you."

Cindy was a wonderful person. I was saddened to learn of her unexpected passing. Heaven is an even better place with her presence. My prayers are with Lynne and Tim (family) as they miss Cindy. My fondest memory of Cindy was when she showed me acard trick and absolutely would not teach me how she did it. I even asked her years later but she still would not show me. She had a great sense of humour:) - Posted by: Rick Danco (Cousin) on: Oct 21, 2014
