I met "Pixie" through my sister-in-law, Mila Stout. I was more of an acquaintance than a friend, but to meet her was to adore her. As I'm sure many others have said, there was no other person like her. She lit up a room without trying. While she was very beautiful, she had a natural beauty that was from within. I will always remember her magnificent smile. As a graphic designer, I marvelled at her artistic creations. Like her, they were true originals like nothing else. I fell in love with a large goofy moose she had fashioned out of "rusty" metal. Shortly afterward, I invited her to my Halloween party. I was so looking forward to seeing her again. So I was very disappointed when she did not show. I couldn't help wonder why she did not come. Later, at Christmas, I was delighted to receive the large moose as a gift from my sister-in-law. Mila explained that the original plan was for Pixie to bring it to the Halloween party. However, Pixie wanted that moose to be just right. So she worked on it throughout the night of the party, making several mooses, but none was good enough! And that is why she never made it to the party! What a shame, and what a sweetheart! I would likely never have detected the difference from one moose to another, but Pixie wanted me to have her best creation. Much as I wanted that moose, I would much rather have had her be present that evening. My treasured moose is featured prominently in my backyard, and if I had to take one item from my house, that silly moose would be it. - Posted by: Andy Stout (friend) on: Sep 25, 2014
