Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJ. S. (STU) CROSBIE October 17, 1931 - September 15, 2014 After a lengthy illness, with the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Patti, by his side. Stu is also survived by his sons: Scott (Josie) and Grant; daughter, Tammy (Richard) Engelman, grandchildren: Michelina, Kyle, Taylor, Carly, Tim, Jason and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Sydney, Tessa, Lily and Liam. Stu was born in Toronto and together with Patti and the kids, moved to Winnipeg in 1973 after a job promotion. That's when Stu and Patti became devoted Blue Bomber and Blue Jay fans. In 1985, Stu was once again promoted and he and Patti moved to St. Albert, Alberta, where there home is still today. Stu had a very successful sales career, being the President's Club Winner for Camco as Top Sales Manager in 1983, 1984, and 1987. Stu lived by the credo that his word was his bond and a handshake was a signed contract. He was a kind and considerate man who was positive. One of his favourite sayings being "Don't greet the Devil good morning before you open the door". His fondest memory was of his dad, who was an Inspector with the Toronto Police Force, leading the Santa Claus Parade on horseback every year. Stu believed that you're never too old to learn and to treat others the way you would want to be treated. He had a great sense of humor that always made family gatherings so enjoyable and memorable. Stu and Patti loved their home in St. Albert and their favourite golf course, Stony Plain, where they were members for 29 years. Both he and Patti loved bowling and Stu won many trophies as an accomplished 5 and 10 pin bowler. Stu was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend who was well liked by all who he came in contact with. A Celebration of Stu's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stu's name to Lung Association Albert/NWT Division, P.O. Box 4700 Stn. South, Edmonton, Alberta, T6E 9Z9. I first met Mr. Crosbie back in 1973 when Grant, Scott and I started our lifelong friendship. I recall spending countless hours at the house, and during my teenage years, it was always the place you wanted to spend time. This was in large part due to Mr. & Mrs. Crosbie creating a welcoming environment for every kid in the neighborhood. I always felt a great deal of respect for Mr. Crosbie and always felt he exemplified the successful businessman. In my mind however, his greatest success and achievement came as a father and how he instilled in his three children a sense of responsiblity, strong work ethic, integrity, respect, and compassion for others. These are the markings of a life well lived. - Posted by: Ken Taylor (Family Friend) on: Sep 26, 2014

My heartfelt sympathies to the Crosbie family for the passing of Mr. Crosbie. I grew up in Westwood hanging out with his son Grant. Mr. Crosbie always welcomed me into his house with open arms, he took an interest in what I was doing, he was down to earth, fun, fair, friendly and a man with a heart of gold. I visited Mr. and Mrs. Crosbie in their St. Albert home while working in Edmonton a few years ago and he was the same kind hearted human being I knew 30 plus year ago. Rest in Peace Mr. Crosbie and I will think of you often. - Posted by: Stephen Cholakis (friend ) on: Sep 18, 2014

I worked for Stu back in the early 80's at Camco in Winnipeg. He was a wonderful man to work with, and was greatly respected by all. We have lost touch over the last 30+ years, but in reading his obituary it is obvious he lived a long full life, and I am so happy to know that. My condolences to Patti and his children and extended family. - Posted by: Darlene Bonney (Co-worker) on: Sep 18, 2014

Patti and family. So sorry to hear of your loss. Stu was a great guy and we both enjoyed working with him (with the occasional party thrown in). It's hard to believe so much time has gone by yet when we saw Stu's photo many fond memories instantly flooded back. Hopefully those good times will see you through this. Our thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Roger & Audrey Batchelor (Friends from Camco/Winnipeg) on: Sep 18, 2014
