ADELINE DOHIE (WOLOSHYN) Adeline, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at the Salvation Army Golden West Lodge on September 23, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents John and Pearl Woloshyn, brother Eugene, sister Florence, brother Allan and son Jeffrey. Adeline was born and raised in the RM of St. Phillips, Saskatchewan. Her life as a girl was spent on the family farm. She experienced a life now considered old fashioned - attending a one-room schoolhouse, participating in farm chores and playing outdoors with school chums and cousins. She had many pets on the farm and continued to love animals throughout her life. She attended high school in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. As a young woman, Adeline moved to Winnipeg to work and soon married George, her husband of 54 years. Together, they settled in the St. James area and raised a family. Having no immediate family in the city, the friends she made in the neighbourhood, at church and later at work became an important part of her life. Together with friends and family, Adeline and George shared dinners, camping trips, time at their cottage and especially travelling to Hawaii, Mexico and the USA. A diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis brought on many challenges to Adeline's health, spirit and independence. On good days her enthusiasm and joy for life was visible for all to see, especially while visiting her beloved grandsons. Adeline is survived by her husband George, daughter Judy (John) Girard and grandsons Paul, Ian and Robert. Thank you to the many people that offered dignified care, support and friendship to Adeline over the years. If desired, donations can be made in Adeline's name to the MS Society, 100- 1465 Buffalo Place Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L8 or www. mssociety.ca A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB.
