DOREEN ANNIE SEARCY (nee DEWAR) November 4, 1936 - September 29, 2014 It is with immense heartache that our family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved wife and mother. She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Mae Dewar, brothers Don (Audrey), and Ted (Sylvia) Dewar, sister-in-law Georgina (Glenn) Akehurst, and brother-in-law Ray Hourd. Doreen is survived by her loving husband John; children Stanley (Wendy), Derek (Donna), Jimmy, Johnny and Deena (Aaron) Dillabough; grandchildren Jared, Spencer, Shai, Amanda, Brittany, Jesse, Kaitlyn, Jordana, Avery; great-granddaughter Ariauna; loving sister Joyce (Bob) Barker; sister-in-law Donna Hourd, and brothers-in-law Gerry (Jackie), Barry (Doris) Searcy. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Doreen worked for Samson and Shane Custom Brokers until meeting John and relocating to Calgary in 1974 where she helped grow their trucking company. Doreen was a woman with a very big heart that had many friends and extended family that she cared deeply about. Her house was always open with a self-serve cup of coffee for anyone at her table. Cremation will take place Friday at Leyden's Funeral Home. A celebration of Doreen's life will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino (Midnapore room) at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made in Doreen's memory to the Tom Baker Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
