Yvonne and Les traveled extensively in Canada and the United States. They visited Jamaica and England often to visit family. They loved to take cruises. Yvonne was very active in planning a holiday that took her and her six sisters to Cuba. She loved visiting Las Vegas as there wasn't a casino she didn't want to try. Yvonne and Les were devoted golfers. Many of their holidays included visits to golf courses they wanted to try. Yvonne was always pleased when she had a good game. She was an enthusiastic coach for those who played the game with her but who weren't as proficient. Yvonne was a joyful, positive person who loved to laugh. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I am a maternal cousin to Leslie Henry and I currently live in New York. It was a real sad news when I heard of Yvonne's passing from my cousin Alda (who is Leslie's sister). My heart and prayers go out to Leslie, their children and Yvonne's family. My very first visit to Canada in 1982 was facilitated and sponsored by Yvonne, Leslie and Anne ... a fellow hairdresser and friend of Yvonne. At that time I lived in Jamaica. I stayed at their house in Winnipeg for one full month and their hospitality could not have been better. A year later I migrated to New York where I have lived since. Over the years I communicated occasionally with Leslie and Yvonne. I last saw Yvonne in October 2004 in Jamaica when we all attended my aunt Gladys' funeral ..who also is Leslie's mother. Yvonne was family to us and so we especially mourn her passing. On a brighter note, I will close by saying this: Yvonne loved life and lived it as a happy person, and making others happy in the process. • Yvonne you have been my sister through your brother all those years. You do not know how much it means to me to be accepted to your family. I very much enjoy the good food, stories, laughs and tears we shared over the years. I will miss you, sorry I couldn't come down for the life celebration, but you would have encouraged me to be home to look after family as you do to your family for as long as I have known you. Lots of love, hugs and prayers to Henry's Jenvenne's and friends from Arctic Bay, Nunavut. - Posted by: Kataisee Attagutsiak (Sister-in= law) on: Nov 15, 2014
