ROBERT (BOB) JOHN PEERS September 23, 1944 - September 22, 2014 Bob's four year journey with lymphoma ended in peace and dignity at home with his family the day before his 70th birthday. Bob was born in Selkirk. He attended the University of Denver on a hockey scholarship where he met and married Joyce Hall. Upon graduation he played hockey for a year in Innsbruck, Austria. He and Joyce then settled in Calgary where he played for the Calgary Spurs Senior Hockey Team. He continued to coach and play hockey throughout his lifetime. His business career was as a petroleum landman for various oil and gas companies with a change of careers for a period of time as owner of a Cruise Holidays franchise. His other passions were skiing, hunting and fishing. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Dolli; his son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Kelly Peers (Wyatt and Chase); his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and John Heavens (Ronald); stepson and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kelly Schneider (Emily and Grace); stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kristen and Jeff Atkinson (Harleigh, Sam and Andy) and Alison and Gregg Barager (Jack, Braeden and Trey). He was the much loved brother of Geraldine and Fred Trapp, and uncle of Karie (Jeff) Olmstead (Andrea and Megan) and Jeffery (Stephanie) Trapp. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce and parents, Bunty and Anne Peers.
