DORIS MARGUERITE WALSH (nee AIKEN) On September 30, 2014 Doris Marguerite Walsh passed away at Pembina Place Personal Care Home shortly after her 98th birthday. Doris was predeceased by her husband Lorne and her brother Don. She is survived by a nephew, Donald Aiken, nieces, Debi Palfy (Maurice) and Norlaine Thomas (Jeff), several grandnieces, and grandnephews, and special friends, Jean and Chris Thain. Doris' employment included the Winnipeg Air Observers School, the Wartime Prices and Trade Board, Eaton's mail order and Gensers department store. In retirement she recorded books for the CNIB. Having lived on Turnbull Drive for 58 years Doris was a proud survivor of many spring floods. She loved animals, especially her cats. Family and friends remember her for her love of family, elaborate dinners on special occasions and an unfailing sense of humour that included clever puns. After all else was forgotten she could still recite passages of classical poetry and verses of favourite songs. Her ashes will be placed beside those of her husband.
