DOUGLAS SHATTUCK Douglas Shattuck, aged 70, died on October 6 in his home in Mazatlan Mexico. He is survived by his two children Ciara (Terry) and Liam Shattuck, his grandson Evan Streich, his sister Linda (David) and former wife, Laurie Marcella. Doug was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Isabelle and Alan Shattuck on July 7, 1944. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Aileen Ouvrard. Doug had an avid interest in world affairs, Canadian and local politics. He was very knowledgeable about world history, and was a voracious reader. Having deep roots in Saskatchewan and the formation of the CCF, he worked for successive NDP governments in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and was a social democrat and union supporter his whole life. Doug has left his family with fond memories of camping, fishing, dinners and dancing with friends in the Regina days. Doug loved music and took great delight in teaching kids how to jive to records like Bill Haley and His Comets. There will be no funeral, and in lieu of flowers the family asks donations can be made in his name to Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontiers, http://www.msf.ca/en/donate-now ).
