Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOPAL SADIE RADCHUK (nee STEFANIUK) June 15, 1938 - October 17, 2014 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister Opal at Selkirk Health Centre at the age of 76. Opal was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Walter Stefaniuk, and her husband Ben Radchuk. Remaining to forever cherish Opal's memory are her brother Gary Stefaniuk (Winnipeg), sister Norma Kahn (West Bloomfield, Michigan), extended family coast-to-coast and friends. Opal was born in a farming community of Saskatchewan and raised in Transcona. After graduation, she worked for a Winnipeg insurance company. She was a devoted sister, loving daughter, caring wife and homemaker who welcomed spending time with family and friends. Home and family were the cornerstones of her life. Opal had a unique sense of humour as large as her heart, loved to laugh and never took herself seriously. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, loved animals, country western music, and dancing. We are enriched by the beautiful memories of her sunny disposition, quick wit and bright smile. She had a giving heart of gold and was truly dedicated to her family. Her happiest times were always with family. Our deepest gratitude is extended to the doctors, staff and caregivers at Selkirk Health Centre and Selkirk General Hospital for their compassionate care and dedicated support provided to our dear sister. Donations in Opal's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. Interment and private family service will be held at Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road. Funeral arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street. Telephone: (204) 224-1525. "Those we love don't go away, They walk with us every day, Ever close in our hearts, Still loved, missed, and very dear..."
