Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE COX (nee BUXTON) Peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2014, Olive passed away at the age of 93. Olive was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Freeman Cox in 1985, parents Ruth and Noel Buxton, sister Ruth, and brothers Jack and Noel. Mom is survived by her loving daughter Susan, son-in-law Rob, and three grandsons, Christopher, Jonathan and Robert. Born to Ruth and Noel Buxton on December 13, 1920, the youngest of four children, she lived her entire life in the St. James area, except the last five years where she resided in West St. Paul. Olive was a career woman beginning at the Retail Credit Company and then the Assiniboine School Division, retiring in 1987. Olive was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, and was very active in both the St. James and St. Andrews Anglican Churches, volunteering for many years on the Alter Guild, as well as volunteering and serving on the Auxiliary at Deer Lodge. Mom loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to see family in Edmonton and Dallas. Whytewold and Grand Beach will always hold very special memories. Family and friends were Olive's passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain. Mom especially enjoyed spending time with her three wonderful grandsons. Mom, "Coggie", Nana - we will miss you so very much. Thank you for your love, guidance, trust and wisdom - we will carry all those attributes with us for the rest of our lives. May God bless and take care of you now, until we meet again. At Olive's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan Blanchard officiating. Thank you to the Middlechurch Home for caring for Olive these last three years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue.
