RUBEN PAGLILIHI CERVANTES It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ruben Paglilihi Cervantes announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ruben leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Corazon Calayag Cervantes. His legacy will live on in his four children Ruben Jr. (Tracey), Roger (Josephine), Connie (Jonathan) and Cherry Ann (Ronald), and his eight cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Rebecca, Madeline, Soleil, Mackenzie, Caleb, Zoe and Duke. His memory will be cherished by his surviving older sister, Felicitas Barrocan and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sotero and Ligaya Cervantes, and his older brother, Carlos. Born July 15, 1945, Ruben arrived in Canada from the Philippines in 1971 and worked at CP Rail where he retired with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed the company of many friends, enjoyed staying physically active and spending time with family. The Cervantes family would like to thank the caring staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre. Lamay services will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m., Saint Edward's Catholic Church, 818 Arlington Street.
