Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Uncle Yadie (as we called him) and Auntie Anne too made such an impact on me as a young child. Things I remember and love them both for: - So loving and gentle like grandparents to me - The yellow bowl with Licorice all sorts (especially the beady ones) - You could always find gum in Uncle Yadie's pocket - New coloring books and new boxes of crayons (my favorite) for every occasion big and small - Gatherings in the park to feed the ducks and eat KFC - Uncle Yadie with his $2 bills and savings advice - My son Bruin doing his Remembrance Day report and selling poppies in honor of his Great Uncle Yadie - And the fact that until recently my kids didn't know his real name was Harry either and that Uncle Yadie loved our special name for him always He was loved and will not be forgotten! - Posted by: Cindy (Cyd) Kunnas (Niece (daughter of Anna's youngest sister Alice)) on: Nov 06, 2014

  • Another "Kaneinite" gone to heaven! Harry and Anna were a couple to look up to for us younger ones. Condolences to Anna, their family, Shirley, Edna and all the siblings. - Posted by: Verna Penner Froese (community friend) on: Nov 01, 2014
