Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE MAY ANDERSON (nee HEANEY) November 28, 1927 - November 10, 2014 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Grace, in Winnipeg shortly before her 87th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Norman Anderson who left us in 2006, her granddaughter Caihla, her mother and father Jessie and James Heaney and her two sisters Alma and Evelyn. Grace was born in Winnipeg where she spent her childhood. Following their marriage Grace and Norm lived in Dauphin, MB, Fort Frances, ON and Winnipeg. Grace is survived by her two sons: Greg (Debbie) of Prince George, BC and Laurie (Paula) of Grande Prairie, AB; four grandchildren: Gina (Darrell), Kimberly, Aidan (Charmaine) and Rhys; and two great-grandchildren: Cadence and Norah. After her children grew up Grace worked for the School Board and for Indian Affairs in Fort Frances before the move back to Winnipeg. Following retirement, Grace and Norm spent their summers at the family vacation cabin on Dark Isle, Rainy Lake, which they had built in the 60s. Winters were spent cross country skiing, square dancing and visiting the boys out West. Grace was a member of the Eastern Star and the United Church Women. Special thanks go to the wonderful care staff at both Poseidon Care Centre and Thorvaldson Care Centre where Grace spent her final years. A service to honour mom's life is set for Friday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive in Winnipeg. Reverend Dr. Sharon Wilson presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations to either Windsor Park United Church Memorial Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. Grace was a good companion to our mother, Alice Fluet. They happily shared the same room, at the end of the hallway, when they first arrived at the Poseidon Care Centre. We offer our condolences on the passing of your mother. - Posted by: Diane Boisjoli and Yvette Gagnon (Aquaintances) on: Nov 19, 2014
