Condolences & Memories (3 entries)
I trained with Coach Simon for 3 years when I was 12 years old. He introduced me to the sport of boxing, a sport that would go on to change my life. I was hopelessly wondering around the internet today watching old fight videos and my old coach popped into mind. I was very sad to hear of his passing, especially not long after I left Dynamo. He was a tough coach but we shared many stories and laughs in the gym. I learned a lot from this man. I will never forget him and even if it is years later, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family. THANK YOU COACH SIMON, I will train extra hard for you today. Cheers my friend. - Posted by: Zac Easton (boxer) on: Feb 20, 2018
Rest in peace, dear Simon. We love you and will remember you as the most generous soul on Earth. The fate got us together by chance, four years ago, but we had the feeling that we knew you all our lives. Your smile and kindness, and love of life were the best gift to any friend that you had. We knew how much you loved your country, Romania, and how much you wanted to go there and visit your family. It was a great joy to meet you each time we visited Winnipeg. You are in our hearts, forever. Mitko and Slavka - Posted by: Dimitre and Slavka Antonov (Friends) on: Nov 23, 2014
I only knew Mr. Costico Mircea from his visits to the pharmacy where I used to work, but he was a very kind man, with an interesting past. He was a Romanian boxer at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, in the heavyweight division, and he took the Silver medal, making it to the Final against a Cuban boxer. Rest in peace Mr. Costico Mircea. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (acquaintance) on: Nov 18, 2014
