DOROTHY MURPHY Dorothy May (Perry) Murphy passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on November 15th, 2014. She was born on September 12th, 1922 in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay, Ontario). Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Thelma Scambler (1988) and Helen Anderson (2007), and her dear friend Les Sutton (2011). She is survived by her brother Clyde Perry and her brother-in-law Les Anderson, both of Winnipeg, as well as her nieces and nephews and their families living throughout North America. Dorothy graduated from the University of Manitoba and spent most of her working career as the pharmacist at Murphy's Drug Store in St. Vital. She loved sports of all kinds, particularly curling, and spent many years travelling to compete in bonspiels. She was a member of The Salvation Army and loved music and singing. Dorothy was the Songster (Choir) Librarian at the Salvation Army Winnipeg Citadel and Winnipeg East Community Church. A service of celebration of Dorothy's life will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Living Hope Community Church, located in the Barbara Mitchell Centre (51 Morrow Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 1A5). Dorothy's family would like to thank Nancy Gillen and Dave Vince, Janet and Dennis Swayze, Yolita Borkowska, Ken and Donna Davis, Major Steven Cameron, Janice Nelson, Judy Anderson Hale and the Staff of Lodge 4 East at Deer Lodge Centre for their special support and care during these last years of Dorothy's declining health.
