ERNEST BOUCHARD 1926 - 2014 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, pépére and brother Ernest Bouchard. Dad passed away peacefully on November 24, 2014 at Actionmarguerite (Taché). Ernest is survived by his wife Therese, his children Elise (Ken Jenner), Roger (Laura-Lee), and Claudette (Markus Kayser) of Calgary, AB, his adoring grandchildren Bryan (Lori), Eric (Keira), and Marc (Payge) Jenner, Brendan and Cameron Bouchard and Chanelle and Christopher Kayser and four great-grandchildren. Dad was born on May 13, 1926 on a farm in Torquay, SK, he was the 5th child of 18 children born to Leo and Marianne. As a young boy dad loved the farm, especially his work with horses. Dad worked various jobs that took him across the country. In 1957 he married his sweetheart Therese and together they settled in St. Boniface to raise their family. Dad retired from St. Boniface Hospital after 28 years of service in 1988. After retirement mom and dad enjoyed many wonderful years of travel. Dad was a gifted woodworker and was generous to all in sharing his craft. He loved playing cards and the laughs and friendships that ensued. His love of Johnny Cash lasted a lifetime and he could often be found singing along. Dad's blue eyes and personality would light up any room he walked into and he could entertain you for hours with his stories and incredible sense of humor. On behalf of Dad and ourselves we would like to thank Dr. Patricia Mykytiuk for her above and beyond compassionate care to Dad that allowed us all to share some wonderful days together in the past week and to the staff of Actionmarguerite (Taché) for their care over the past several weeks. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m. preceded by prayers at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral, 190, avenue de la Cathédrale. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. • My condolences to all the family and especially to Ma Tante Therese, Elise, Roger and Claudette. Mon Oncle Ernest was a fantastic uncle, an entertainer with plenty of stories and someone who went out of his way to cheer people up with a joke. A real people-person with a genuine soul. You will be missed by everyone you knew Mon Oncle. RIP - Posted by: Germain Bisson (Nephew) on: Nov 28, 2014

  • Our deepest condolences, losing a Husband, Father, and Pepere is heartbreaking, no matter when, as we lose a piece of ourselves as well. Uncle Ernest was well-loved, and cherished by all, especially his family. I am so happy that we had a chance to have a nice long visit recently. We talked about all the good old times, laughed and reminisced about family stories. He was his usual happy, good spirited self and was delighted to show me his little green John Deere tractor. We wish you all comfort and peace knowing that he is now at rest and will live on forever in all of your hearts and memories. Please know we share your sorrow and offer our thoughts and prayers to you all. Love, Gerald and Raphaela - Posted by: Gerald and Raphaela Lecomte (Family-Nephew) on: Nov 27, 2014
