VICTOR CORY HARDISTY It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Victor Cory Hardisty (Maiingan - Wolf) on November 29, 2014 at the tender age of 31. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Roselyn and Victor Hardisty. His love, Terri Lynn Tacan and their daughters Lyric, Echo, Ocean and Heavenly. Cory is also a proud and caring father to his children: Korilynn, Shawanong, Nicky, Cecily, and Chevayo. Cory also leaves to mourn his brothers David (Mila), Bryceson, Glenn, Nicholas and Dustin, sisters Brett and Lyndsay. Cory will be greatly missed by all who loved and cared for him including his grandmother Edna, his aunts and uncles from both the Sinclair and Hardisty families of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation and Hollow Water First Nation and his nephews, Keegan, Mathias, Donovan and Gavin. Cory had many cousins too numerous to mention here. Each will remember the good times that they shared. Cory was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Rodrick and Marie Genaille. His maternal grandmother affectionately knew him as "my Tubby". Also predeceased by his paternal great-grandmother Kookum Philomena and great-grandfather Adam and paternal grandfather tatta Arnold (Taffy). Cory lived his life in Hollow Water, Brokenhead Oijibway Nation and Winnipeg, Manitoba. He lived most of his childhood in Hollow Water where he learned about the outdoors from his Tatta. He also enjoyed summers at Black Island, camping and swimming on the beaches. In his youth he enjoyed singing powwow and playing guitar with his dad and uncles. In the winter he enjoyed riding the quad and snow machine whenever he would visit in Hollow Water. He enjoyed these times catching up with friends and family. Cory graduated from Maples Collegiate. Thereafter, he became an ironworker and welder. In his young life Cory savored many things, love and laughter - he had the blessings of a large family. He was quick to smile and to share a joke when the opportunity occurred. He enjoyed cooking and making special dishes for his children and his love. Cory will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. Eternal Grace Funerals Chapel 1111 Logan Ave. (at McPhillips St.) Wake services will follow on Thursday, December 4, 2014 and Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Hollow Water Community Hall. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • We were so young but so close, I will never forget that. You were loving, caring and did not matter what it took to show it. Though we parted our memories remain in my heart and so do you. Rest in paradise until we meet again. - Posted by: Charlene Monieas () on: Dec 04, 2014

  • My sincere condolences to the family and especially the children at this terrible time. I met Cory (14yrs ago) when he was part of a youth project, for Southeast. He was a smart and impressionable young man. I always remembered him for his positive contribution to the project and his community! Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers to you all! - Posted by: Evelyn Folster (friend) on: Dec 03, 2014

  • We will always cherish your smile and laughter, the memories will always be kept close in our hearts. Rest in peace cousin, love Marcel, Camilla, Clara and Tavis - Posted by: Mr&Mrs Marcel Williams (Cousin) on: Dec 03, 2014

  • You will always be remembered my dear nephew. Over the years I watched you grow, you had many dreams one of being a fireman and then a musician, you loved to sing even if it was to yourself. You were always so curious as a child, always wondering how things worked, you even learned to drive at an early age! How much I shall miss your laughter and your smile. You grew up before my eyes suddenly you were a young man learning to hunt and fish with uncle. Then of course you became a daddy...and I had the sense if you could you would have cared for them all... Rest now your hardships are over. Until we meet again... - Posted by: Madelain & Ed Neveau (Aunt and Uncle) on: Dec 03, 2014
