Mom was born on May 13, 1926 to Wasyl and Anna Kohut in Stuartburn, Manitoba. She met Dad and they married on May 11, 1946. In 1947, they moved to Winnipeg to raise their family. Mom's faith was her strength. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church and was very active in the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. Mom's family meant the world to her. Mrs. Henzel as I knew her was one of the kindest, gentlest soul you could ever meet. I will always remember her from the days that I sang in a band with her son Jerry. She would always go out of her way to feed us during practice and I as the only girl in the band would go and chat with her while the guys sat around chatting together. My deepest condolences from my family and myself. I truly know what a hard time this is for all of you because the loss of a mother is never an easy one. It has been 2 years since my mother passed away and although it does get easier, the pain will always be there. May Mrs. Henzel Reast in Peace.
