FRANK KOLODKA It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Frank Kolodka on Monday, December 1, 2014 at West Park Manor at the age of 87 years. Left to mourn is his son Christopher; brother Ben (Mary); sister Helen Yanke; sister-in-law Josephine Kolodka, and nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by wife Helen in 1992; daughter Kathleen in 1985; father Bronislaw in 1974; mother Anna in 1987; sister Mary Szklaruk in 1994, and brother William in 2014. Frank was born March 8, 1927 in Poland, coming to Canada at the age of two. He worked for C.N.R. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Parish, 1707 John Brebeuf Place with viewing at 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. 204-586-8044

I worked at West Park Manor where Frank spent his last days. I have to say Frank was one of the nicest people I've ever come across. He was always so polite and ever so thankful for the slightest thing. He was such a pleasure to take to entertainment as he really enjoyed himself and he always made a point of saying how much he enjoyed it (except when it was too loud and then he would let you know too in no uncertain terms!). He found great pleasure in the simpe things and whenever he was served a meal it was always "beautiful". A man of times gone by.
