DELAYNE MARGARET WARD (ADOLPHE)
Born: Jul 25, 1933
Date of Passing: Dec 01, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDELAYNE MARGARET WARD (nee ADOLPHE) July 25, 1933 - December 1, 2014 With overwhelming sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Delayne, while being lovingly embraced by her two daughters, Deanna Wells (Steve) and Debby Ward. Predeceased by the great love of her life, Don (2007), her parents, Bill and Daisy Adolphe, her sister Verlyne Halldorson (1999). She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren, Josh Wells (Echo), Stephanie Siemens (Joel), Kevin Wells, and adopted grandson Justin Arbour. She waited on her passing until she could hug each of her eight great-grandchildren, Seth, Ethan, Mika and baby Ahri Wells, and Tyson, Cara, Miley and newest baby Malachi Siemens. She will also be dearly missed by her nephew Cameron Halldorson as well as many close friends and relatives in British Columbia, Manitoba and Japan. Delayne was raised in St. Vital, Manitoba and worked for the Winnipeg Supply Company and CBC. She met the love of her life while at a work party. Her impressive hat grabbed his attention and then he had eyes only for her. They were married in 1957 and welcomed two daughters to complete their family. They moved to Calgary and then settled in beautiful Burnaby, BC and daily were surrounded by amazing views of water and mountains. They opened a small outlet bakery, The Bread Bin, and Delayne and her Aunty Betty loved to welcome and chat with the customers. Both Delayne and Don left a piece of their hearts in Manitoba and returned to "Lake Time" each summer at their cottage in the Whiteshell (their own Golden Pond). Sometimes peaceful but more often filled with love and laughter as family and lifelong friends gathered for fellowship and games of crib and Farkle. Delayne was loving, joyous, youthful (she loved her i-phone), and a great listener to all. She was happiest having family and friends surrounding her. She surprised her whole family in 2009 with a trip to Maui, a place that she and Don had found very special. She enjoyed working on crafts and baking. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She will be dearly missed. We are broken but she no longer is. Rest in Jesus' Arms Mom and dance with Dad. A Celebration of Life will be held at her family home on December 6, 2014. Drop in anytime between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Call Steve at 604-556-1239 for directions. We would welcome pictures and stories of your favourite moments with Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of one of the best friends or neighbours that one could have. Delayne was a very loving lady and was kind and considerate to all. I am sure her wonderful family and all who knew her knows that she has reunited with her husband Don and is watching over us. We sure are going to miss her. - Posted by: Doug Moberg (Friend and former neighbour @ Brereton) on: Dec 04, 2014
