ERIK GEORGE FONAGER February 25, 1946 - December 8, 2014 We are saddened by the passing of Erik George Fonager on December 8, 2014 at the Gimli Hospital in Gimli, Manitoba. Erik George Fonager was born February 25, 1946 in Sherridon, Manitoba, son of Ethel Mary Helliwell Fonager McFadyen and Peter Fonager. In 1951, with the closing of the Sherridon mine site, the Fonager's relocated to Winnipeg, where Erik lived for most of his life. Erik was faced with many health challenges throughout his life. He was a quiet gentleman and will be remembered for his giving nature, keen sense of humour, love of animals and music. Erik is survived by his two sisters, Thelma Schjerning and Marilyn Johnson, both now living in Ottawa, Ontario. A memorial service for Erik will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
