JOHANN (JOHN) K. BRAUN February 3, 1927 December 13, 2014 Peacefully with loved ones by his side, and after a lengthy illness, John went to be with his heavenly Father. John was predeceased by his wife Florence of 42 years; his parents Abram and Sara Braun; and siblings Martin (Olive), Henry (Eva), Abram (Justine), David, Wilhelm (Susan), Olga (Peter) Penner, Bernhard (Katie), Thomas; and sister-in-law Jean. Left to cherish John's memory are his wife Susan; children Judy, Jan (Tim) Causley, Lorna (Mark) Causley, Sharon (Ron) Brown, Sandra (Terry) Shortts, Bonnie, Kathie (Jim) Grant, Joyce (Al) Quinn; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings George (Anne), Peter, Hilda (Jack) Klassen, and Lydia (Barton) Crundwell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was born on the family farm in Rosenfeld, MB. While teaching full time, John received a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Manitoba. He began his career as a teacher in 1946, and retired as a principal in 1983. He was respected and revered by his students. All but one of those years were spent in Northwestern Ontario. Throughout his life, he was very active with the Gideons and very involved in church life. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Concordia Place who provided wonderful care. A Funeral Service for John will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, with viewing held prior from 9:30 10:00. Interment to follow.
