EDGAR CLIVE JARVIS Clive passed away peacefully at his home in Tweed on November 30, 2014. He was in his 85th year. Clive leaves to mourn his wife Inez Credicott; son Ian (Helen) of Manotick; daughter Heather Holland (John); stepdaughter Carol Fox (Don Smith) of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren Sarah and Shannon Jarvis, Jonathan and David Holland; sister Betty Rogers of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his first wife Bernice, his father Edgar John Jarvis and mother Florence Mae (McKone). Clive was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba and spent his childhood in Kelwood, Cartwright and Killarney. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Manitoba and a Masters of Science in Meteorology from the University of Toronto. In 1954 he married Bernice McConnell of Kelwood. He was a meteorologist at Gander, NL until he moved to Toronto to become a research scientist in what is now Environment Canada's Meteorological Service. At the time of retiring at age 55, he was Director of Forecast Research. Clive enjoyed many productive years of retirement. He and Bernice moved to Tweed, Ontario where he had built their retirement home. Clive pursued his many interests as an artist, woodcarver, model shipbuilder and seeker of knowledge. Yet his greatest pleasure was world travel, first on tours and later on cruises. After marrying Inez in 2005, Clive took great pleasure in showing her the world and seeing places anew through her eyes. Their last cruises were to Alaska and to Hawaii this past September. To the end Clive had a thirst for knowledge. In recent years, he read and understood all of Einstein's papers. He followed politics with keen interest, and was constantly striving to understand and use new technology. He sought medical information in order to play an active role in his health care. He was inspirational to those around him because he always had physical and intellectual goals, and he exerted great determination and effort to achieve them. This quiet, unassuming man was full of life, had a wonderful sense of humour, and was loved and admired by all who truly knew him. Funeral service and interment have taken place in Tweed, Ontario.
