DARIN CHARTRAND March 22, 1967 - December 16, 2014 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Darin on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 47 years. Remaining to cherish Darin's memory are his loving wife, Jodi and his children, Megan, Luke, and Blake. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother, Florence and John; brothers, Melvin (Shirley), Alvin (Rose), Brian (Mary-Lee), Andy (Lori), Dwayne (Cheryl); in-laws Harvey and Eileen Pischke; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Murray), Jill, Kim (Craig); brothers-in-law, Kevin (Roanna), Shaun (Shelley); also many nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Leo Joseph Chartrand. Born in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Darin grew up in the Lundar area. Shortly after moving to Winnipeg he met the love of his life Jodi, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage. Darin was a well-respected, hardworking man. He started out in construction and building houses. For several years he worked in the maintenance department at the Bank Of Canada, then for Apogee Maintenance, the company he eventually purchased. Darin loved entertaining, bringing countless friends and family together to share a laugh and enjoy his awesome BBQ skills. He especially loved spending time at Victoria Beach, a place where he was surrounded by the beauty of God's creation, a place where he could always find peace. His greatest love was his family. Darin's children were his pride and joy. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend or even participate in their school or sporting activities and beamed with pride while doing so. Darin's generous heart, sense of humour and unique laugh will be forever remembered. We will deeply miss and love him always. On Monday, December 22, 2014 Darin's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church, 350 Gilmore Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com

Hi Jodi and family. Words can not even begin to express the grief you must be going through at this very sad time in your life. Nothing lies beyond the reach of prayer. In Romans 8:38-39 says,"Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." When all around you there is darkness and earthly joys have flown, Your Savior whispers His promise, never to leave you alone. Jesus will never let you walk alone. Give every anxious care to God. God is a safe resting place all the time but especially during such difficult circumstances. Under His wings, you will safely abide. Though your days and nights are dark, still you can trust in Jesus. God's word is like refreshing rain and meets you in all your needs. God bears the world's weight on His shoulder, yet holds you His child in the palm of His hand. May God give you all His sovereign peace and comfort as you celebrate Darins life on Monday. - Posted by: Lenore L Tyler (friend) on: Dec 20, 2014

I was deeply saddened to hear of Darin's death and my heart aches for all of you! I remember Darin so well - especially his good nature, his beautiful smile, his fabulous hair and the way he liked to dress so fine! Darin was often in my home with my sons Kris, Aaron and Johann and he was always a delight to have around. It is hard to believe that he is no longer in this world. I offer my deepest sympathy to everyone in the family. Sincerely, Davvy Eyolfson - Posted by: Davilyn Eyolfson (Friend of the Family) on: Dec 20, 2014
