RUBY DYCK 1928 2014 Due to complications from a fall, Ruby passed away peacefully on December 22, 2014. Ruby was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, John; her parents Sandy and Margaret Gunn, and brother Norman. She is survived by children Brian (Barbara) and Shirley, grandchildren Jody (Don), Jenny (Illya) and Jeff (Toya); great-grandson Spencer; and sisters Pearl and Margaret. Ruby was a proud stay-at-home mother until she got a part-time job at Eaton's warehouse in Winnipeg. After that she joined John at his Osborne Park Service Station, where she loved her job doing the books, interacting with customers, and bringing sweet treats to the staff. In this difficult time, we would like to give thanks to two very special nieces, Debbie and Brenda, who have always been there for Mom and the rest of us. We would also like to acknowledge the staff and her friends at The Parkway particularly Roy Ormiston and Marcel Bagan and special friend Frank Peters, for their friendship, assistance and support to both Mom and Dad in their later years. At Ruby's request, a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ruby's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3, by calling (204) 982-2041, or through email to donations@winnipeghumanesociety.ca. A mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
