Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY CAMPBELL February 28, 1933 - December 20, 2014 As we mourn the passing of our Dad, we will always remember his humor and great wisdom. Dad is survived by his daughter Debbie (Kevin Chucko), grandchildren Allyson and Keith, great-grandchildren Dominik and Silver; son Kevin, Lisa and her children and grandchildren; brother-in-law Robert Flock, sister-in-law Gladys Campbell, sister-in-law Margaret Campbell, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by our mom Marlene (nee Flock), parents Anne and Hugh, brothers Hugh and Jim, sisters Anne and Violet and in-laws Anne and Eugene Flock. Dad grew up in West Kildonan and was the youngest of five children. Mom and Dad met when they were 18. At 19 he joined the RCMP, and went to Regina for training. When Dad came home that Christmas Mom always said he left a boy and came back a man. Dad was a member of the RCMP for four years. Mom and Dad got married in 1956. Dad joined the Federal Government Canada Manpower in 1960, and retired from Canada Manpower and Immigration Department in 1987. Not being ready for the sedentary life he went to work as a Commissionaire at Winnipeg International Airport. Dad was a Mason, and also belonged to the RCMP Veterans Association where he was the secretary for many years. He renewed old friendships and made many new ones at the Vets. Dad enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow up providing advice along the way. As Dad got less mobile, the trips to COSTCO with Ally were especially looked forward to. In 1999 Dad and Keith volunteered at the Pan Am Games where they enjoyed working together at the airport. Dad loved his Cocker Spaniels and throughout life had four dogs Clarence, Casey, Missy and Buffy. Throughout their lives Mom and Dad did a lot of travelling on the road, camping along the way in the earlier years. They have spanned the whole country from coast to coast four times and loved all of it. Mom and Dad often went to B.C. to visit extended family and all the mountains and waterfalls. During Dad's brief illness he always kept a stiff upper lip and remained jovial, with a smart remark to most situations. The nurses often had to ask him to be serious. Many thanks to all the staff at HSC 4Gh ward and CancerCare for all their care for Dad. A remembrance will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Rest in peace Dad, you are with Mom now. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I have known Roy since he was very small and he lived next door to me with the whole family. Roy and I went to school together and remained friends. When he got married I also got to meet Marlene and her and Roy use to meet us at the Mall. Violet and my mom were very good friends also she lived just down the street from us. We used to always meet at the school reunions and spent a lot of time catching up on all the gossip. When I saw you in the hospital you insisted I go to Texas no matter what happens. You always described a good Irish wake with Irish Mist and a blessing and a salute. I got the bottle and on Jan 2nd, you will get the blessing. I already miss your phone calls. Love Bob - Posted by: Bob FLOCK (Brother in law) on: Dec 27, 2014
