HENDRIK (HENRY) BRAKEL Hendrik "Henry" Brakel, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2014 at the age of 75 years, our loving husband, father, and grandfather, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Henry is survived by his loving wife Marlene (nee Feschuk) and sons Richard (Valerie) and Terry (Lori), grandchildren Brett, Allison, Kurtis, Chase, Scott, Caitlin and Cameron. Caring brother of Diane, Gerrit (Tina), Ken (Betsy), Greta (Jake) and George and many nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by his parents Frank and Helen, his brother-in-law Henk and his brother Frank. Henry came to Canada in 1953 from the Netherlands with his family to pursue a new life. Henry's passions in life were his family, soccer (Ital Inter soccer club) and hockey (St. Boniface Saints and Kildonan North Stars). He was especially proud of his seven grandchildren in everything that they did. Henry was also very proud to be a member of the St. Nicholas' Ukrainian Catholic Church Men's Club. Memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Father Isadore Dziadyk presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 2R3.
