EDWARD ROY CLARK Peacefully, in his sleep, Roy passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Kildonan Personal Care Home. He was predeceased by his wife Rowene in 2008. Roy is survived by his children Keven (Val) and Lori (Martin), grandchildren Jamie (Kendra) Clark, Shannon (Les) Clark, Graham (Eloa) Hnatiuk, Gordon (Jackie) Natuik, and great-grandson Reef Redekop, as well as his sister Joan Sigurdson, and nephews Bryan (Cyndi) Sigurdson and Barry Sigurdson. Roy was born on September 28, 1926 in Elmwood. He was a professional musician, working magic on his accordion in most nightclubs around Winnipeg. He worked at Lowe's Music Store and bought the business in the mid-sixties. Roy and Rowene married in 1952 and began a life together that lasted for 52 years until Rowene's death in 2008. They enjoyed camping, badminton and tennis and visits with friends. Dad took great joy in his family and loved spending time with his children. He was a handyman, fixing things around his home and tending to his yard. Roy was a proud member of Acacia Lodge #111, being an active member for over 40 years, serving many positions there. Although Roy had struggled with his health in the last few years, he still enjoyed visits with family, having coffee, hearing about his grandchildren and enjoyed discussions on many different topics. Roy was a gentleman, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a good friend to many. He will be missed. A Celebration of Roy's Life was held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Stephen's Anglican Church in East Kildonan. We would like to thank the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home for their care and friendship. Thanks to all who attended to pay their respects and to share their memories with the family. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Acacia Lodge #111, 205 Kimberly Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2K 0X3.
