CATARINA DE MEDEIROS TELES Born April 1, 1925 in Furnas Sao Miguel, Catarina passed away on December 25, 2014 at the age of 89 years. She married Agusto Da Silva at age 24 and they moved to Santa Maria, where she worked as a seamstress for 20 years. They returned home to Faja de Baixo until her husband's death at which point she came to Canada to live with her family. Here she spent the last 32 years of her life helping raise her grandchildren and passing on her roots and traditions that she held so dear. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Maria Silva; grandchildren Catarina Silva Stewart (Benjamin) and Lucia Silva as well as great-granddaughter Paulina Stewart. She is predeceased by sons Joao Agusto and Eugenio Manuel Silva. Vigil Prayers 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street.
