Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER KOHUT Alexander Kohut, beloved husband to Kathleen and father of Kenneth, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2014 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 84. Born in Stuartburn, Manitoba to Sam Kohut and Aksana Shewchuk on December 6, 1930, Alex lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He married Kathleen Moslenko on July 18, 1964 and was employed as a teacher in Wampum, Manitoba, as a waiter-porter for Canadian Pacific Railway, and finally as a floor supervisor with Motor Coach Industries. He retired from Motor Coach in 1995. Alex loved to putter about his house and garden and took quiet pride in his son's accomplishments at school and work. In later years he found considerable amusement in the antics of his grandson. He and Kay celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary earlier this year in the company of many family and friends. Kay and Ken are joined in their mourning by Ken's wife Jackie and their son James; Alex's brother Michael (Olga), sister Lena Pawlitsky (Marcel), and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers Nicolas and John and by his sister Mary. Thank you to the staff of the Victoria General Hospital who cared for Alex during his final days over the busy holiday season, and thank you to Dr. Ray Singer for his professional efforts on Alex's behalf over the years. A memorial service will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere, in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Alex's name to the charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
