RUTH KROLL Peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Golden West Centennial Lodge, Mom went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ at the age of 87 years. Mom leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Caroll Dalke (Harvey), Ray (Marva), Ronnie, Doug (Karen), David (Dianne), grandchildren, Darryl (Dawn), Heather (Kevin), Derrick (Chantal), Lana, Charlene (Jack), Leanne (Mike), Danny, Andrea, Susan (Fred), William (Alicia), Gregory (Latisha), and Anne, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her brother Leo (Gerty), sister Edna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Herb (1996), sister-in-law Doreen, brother-in-law Vern, and siblings, Alex, Lydia, Edith, Arnold, Elsie, Wanda, Charlie and Ed. Mom was born on September 13, 1927 in Green Bay, Manitoba and was baptized on October 2 in Green Bay Lutheran Church. She was raised on the family farm near Beausejour and was one of 11 children. At an early age she moved to Winnipeg for employment. She and Dad were married in 1948 and raised their five children on a farm in the Rosser area. In 1974 they sold the farm and moved into Winnipeg. Mom was happy to be home providing a comforting and loving place for family and friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. A big thank you to Mom's caregivers, the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge and Val for her compassion, dedication and friendship. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive, Winnipeg, with Pastor J. Schnarr officiating. Viewing prior to service. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to St. James Lutheran Church Wish List. I'm so sorry to hear of Auntie Ruth's passing. I went to visit her a few times and corresponded with her up until the last couple of years.
