Born: Sep 06, 1931
Date of Passing: Dec 30, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHELMA GRACE BUDNIK (DUMKA) September 6, 1931- December 30, 2014 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Thelma Grace Budnik on December 30, 2014, at home with her loving husband George at her side. We will deeply miss and love her always. Left to cherish her memory is her husband George; daughters Debbie Mazur (Rick); Janis Klassen (Frank) and Susan Budnik Pilon (Mike). She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tim; Leah (Alex); Jarod (Brittany); Joshua (Lauren); Spenser and great- grandson Carter. Also mourning her passing is her sister Alice Taylor; brother-in-law Al Budnick; sisters-in-law Arlene Dumka, Irene Robinson and Margaret Didenko, plus numerous nieces and nephews, including Jason Budnick and Robert Taylor, her godson. Thelma was predeceased by her parents Mike and Mary Dumka; her brother Russell Dumka, his daughter Katherine and brother-in-law Jim Taylor. Thelma and George were childhood sweethearts; having connected when they both attended Norquay School and were together for 61 years. Thelma started her career at Globe Bedding and then joined the Bank of Montreal, where she retired after 25 years of service. Mom had a passion and spirit for life and loved her family very much, with her grandchildren her pride and joy. She was their biggest fan at all their various extra-curricular activities. Mom's hobbies included bingo and she was a long-time volunteer for the Winnipeg Hawkeyes Football Club and St. Andrews Social Club. In later years you could find her enjoying casino trips with George, trips to the United States, a very special trip to Disney World with her first grandchild Jarod and an Alaskan cruise with her good friend Helen. Mom struggled with health issues over the last several years but always kept a positive outlook, never complaining. She was a trooper and an inspiration to us all. A very special thank you to home care workers Jennifer, Evelyn, Edna, Kimberly, Kirsti, Diane, Stephanie, Catherine and Sherry all who provided Mom with excellent care and treated her with dignity and respect over the years. We also thank the fire-paramedics for their support. Cremation and service has taken place. CROPO 204-586-8044
