  • Jack was one of the legends when I was a rookie. Great guy with a quick wit and a sharp tongue. He was nice to me as a young firefighter and tried, as he did with many other young firefighters, to teach me my job. I had good mentors and he was one of them. Thanks, Jack. Journey well. - Posted by: Scott Miner (Co-worker) on: Jan 15, 2015

  • Jack Nicol was as fine a man as has ever walked God's earth. "El Presidente" was the reeve of the R.M. of Springfield while my Father was on council with him. Mr. Nicol cared deeply for the municipality, its people and their well being, however, more than that he cared deeply for his family. His love of his family was evident every time you talked with him. He laughed deeply and was such a wonderful person. When I called him last year to tell him my Father had passed he away he cried on the phone and then I cried with him. I now cry for his family. May God bless y'all and keep you in the palm of His hands until you see this good man again in heaven. Our deepest condolences. - Posted by: Craig Kennedy (Friend) on: Jan 13, 2015
