I was so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I got to know Mike and Jessie while volunteering at Riverview with my pet therapy dog. We had some nice visits and I will miss him. My deepest sympathy to Jessie and family. - Posted by: Maggie Svaling (Riverview volunteer ) on: Jan 19, 2015

He was uncle Mike to me and was a staple through my childhood. Jessie and Mike would come over to play cards with my parents Helen and Peter quite often. He would acknowledge my baking with "What Pam baked a cake for us!" His boisterous laugh kept us up past our bedtime on those occasions. He was generous and I recalled thinking he was the train conductor on all those trains I would hear at our home in Charleswood! Andrew and Wanda you had a great dad! And Jessie I made cabbage rolls the other day, but yours in my memory were so much better! - Posted by: Pamela Heggestad nee Dyck (niece) on: Jan 14, 2015

I got to know Mike and his wonderful family when he and I were roommates in Riverview. For two old guys who could barely move, we had a lot of fun, especially in Carol's exercise class where Mike used to misbehave and get me into trouble (somewhere, Mike is reading this and smiling). Marguerite, our boys and I extend our deepest sympathy to Jessie and all of Mike's family and friends. Mike! Behave yourself! - Posted by: Don Wood (Friend) on: Jan 12, 2015
