TIM HAMER After a final brief battle with cancer, Tim passed away on January 7, 2015 after having spent a few memorable days with his children. He leaves to mourn his wife Diane, children Mark (Cathy) and Shannon (Brian) and grandchildren Sydney and Erin. He will be missed by several family members in Ontario, England, and Australia, including his sister (Jackie), sister-in-law (Betty), and brother-in-law (Joe) as well as friends here and abroad. Tim was born on December 28, 1932 in Horsham, England. As a young man, he immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario in 1952 where he met and married his love, Diane Golka in 1962. Tim and Diane moved to London, Ontario with Tim's work (Towers) and had their first child (Mark) in 1966. They then moved to Toronto with Tim's work and had their second child (Shannon) in 1970. Later, they found their way to Winnipeg and settled into their family home in Fort Richmond. Tim continued in retail, working at Ricki's and finally retiring from Mariposa in the early 1990s. Tim and Diane retired together and subsequently moved to Gimli in 2000 and returned to Winnipeg in 2004. Many thanks to the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital palliative care ward for their compassionate care of both Dad and his family during his brief stay there. A private family service will be held in the summer.
