Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY JOSEPH MCIVOR On Monday, January 12, 2015 at the age of 81 years Roy passed away, with his son by his side at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Roy was predeceased by his wife Georgina, parents Joseph and Florence, brothers Doug, John, Gordon, Melton and sister Elsie. Roy is survived by his family Deby (Casey), Mandy (Alfred), Sandy (Cindy), Roy, Bruce (Maureen) and brother Harold; numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Roy was born October 8, 1933 at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB and was raised in Portage la Prairie. At the age of 18 Roy enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces where he fought in the Korean War, he served his country until 1961. Roy then worked as a bookkeeper until 1981 and then as a Building Engineer until his retirement. In 1984 Roy and his wife Georgina bought their retirement home in Winnipeg Beach where they spent most weekends until they retired and moved there in 1998. In 2006 Roy suffered a stroke and moved to Deer Lodge in 2007 where he resided until his passing. Roy was a proud member of the Korean Veterans Association. Thank you to all Deer Lodge Centre staff T6, the KVA and Maureen, Sabrina and Katrina for their caring and support. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rockwood Unit 303 Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Canada at 341 Wilton St., Winnipeg, MB.
